This splended naturally dyed and handwoven rug comes from the Teotitlan del Valle studio of Taller Tenido a Mano. The workshop, created by Eric Chavez Santiago and his wife Elsa Sanchez Diaz, are Oaxaca Cultural Navigator partners. It is 31 x 34 inches, made from 100% wool woven on the treadle loom. The churro sheep wool is dyed with cochineal to yield shades of magenta, red, and light purple, with Indigo blue to create a dark purple. Stunning!
