I met this weaver on a back street in Antigua. She was wearing an eye-popping, dazzler huipil, and I asked if she would like to come to our hotel to present an expoventa for our group. She happily agreed and later that day, appeared with a bundle of finely woven textiles, including this handsome scarf. She lives in a small village under the volcano very close to Antigua. Use it to wear, to hang, on a table, or draped as a furniture accent piece. Note the stunning, intricate designs woven on a backstrap loom using the supplementary weft technique. The colors are breathtaking! Wear it over your shoulders and fasten with a pin in front for textile drama. Fabric is cotton. Measures 18″ wide x 40-1/2″ long.
We are going back to Guatemala in January 2026. Come with us!
