Handmade in the Mixteca Alta of Oaxaca, where clay is mined from ancient quarries by local people high in the mountains, about four hours from the city.  I purchased these from the maker. Two strands of beads make this a statement necklace — pair them together or wear them separately. Each bead is hand-formed, carved, and then fired. Strung on sturdy 30″ long cords that are adjustable, making this a versatile necklace great for casual dressing. Understated elegance!
